Being Ingrid.

Episode 1.

Ingrid and I met in 2002 through mutual friends and later became roommates in 2003. We -along with the other half of the UFBs (unfound beauties) AND Harold (see below) - survived our first years in LA and - really and truly 'grew up' together. Those early twenties are a bit of a craze and there's no way I would have made it without the love and support.

Heartache, heartbreak, clubs (AH!), SATC, fights, fools, small quarters, Barham, endless laughter and tears. Never ever will I forget those years! Poet? Yikes.

SO...

Needless to say, this little sass is a very integral part of my California family. AND she is so much fun to take pictures of - (See her first shoot here) - as is her home:

Bright, eccentric, warm, bold...just like Ingrid.

Take a Peek:
the knock, knock questionnaire.

I am...BLUE STEEL. Just kidding. I am Ingrid Alberts.

I was born...in Green Bay, Wisconsin! Cheesehead!

My favorite city is...Chicago.

I crave...thunderstorms.

Beauty must have...bronzer! Nars "Casino" is my favorite.

My home is...always a work in progress.

Favorite thing in my home...a print that I have of the Hollywood Bowl. My mom bought it when I was in middle school and put it in my room. I like to think that she knew I would live here someday.

Another favorite thing...is the Audrey Hepburn print in my bathroom. I know like 1000 people who have it as well, but it just works in there!

Something I have that others may not is...Harold. He is an antique mannequin head that has been with me for years and it's a conversation piece. People either love him or hate him. He usually sits atop a giant paint can near the doorway. Kind of like a body guard.

Celebrity's style I'd like to steal...Leighton Meester, solely based on her VMA 2009 red carpet look- it sealed the deal for me.

All I want for Christmas is...you. A la Mariah Carey. Can't you just hear that song now?

My favorite spot in the house is... my bed because it is SO damn comfortable. Hard to get out of at times. Believe it or not, most of the time spent on my Mac is while I am in bed.

Inspiration for home decor comes from... my mom. She was an interior designer/decorator and had very unique style and an uncanny ability to walk into a room and just know what would work. I wish I had an ounce of that!

Most prized possession... It's a toss up between the ring my dad gave my mom for their 25th wedding anniversary and the replica he made of my mom's wedding band for me and my sister. He melted their rings together and had replicas made for me and Mol and engraved in them what he engraved in hers. So sweet.

Lounge wear... includes oversized American Apparel tri-blend v-neck men's tee.

My charm necklace... means a lot to me because most of the charms tell a story. I can wrap it around 3 times and wear it as a bracelet too!

Song I have on repeat..."Alone" off of the Glee Soundtrack.

I am thankful for...people who let me stick my cold feet under them and don't get weird about it. I am a cold person, people! To warm my feet up, I slip on my HOT MJ pumps.

Food...is anything Mexican. Chips and guacamole? Yes please and I will CRUSH them!

Drink...Diet Coke. Anyone who has met me knows this. For adult beverages it's Effen Black Cherry Vodka and Diet Coke.

Where I live now... is on Kings Road in a quaint 1 bedroom. Living on my own and all grownsed up. My apartment is on a busy street and I love waking up to the traffic, and that should not be printed in the sarcasm font. I genuinely love it.

Jeans...J Brand. No questions there. Loyal wearer through and through.

Vacation...anywhere where the sun is shining! I get high when I am in the sun. Also really love Door County in the summertime.

Designer...for red carpet, Marchesa or Armani Prive. Also still get chills from Eva Mendes' look at the '09 Globes. I am not a one designer kind of a girl and am in no way educated enough about fashion to know what I am talking about. I live for
shopbop.com.

Favorite Movie... I have lots! Not fair to make me pick one. Heheh. Sixteen Candles, The Goonies and Love Actually. Movies I can always watch and never tire of them. Worst movie of all time? In The Land of Women and Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Pure torture.

If I were a shoe... I'd be a nude peep toe Louboutin. My mouth waters when I see those red soles and I start to lose vision I get so excited.

Best quality in a person...sense of humor, hands down.

*Dear Ingy,
Thank you for being the knock, knock guinea pig...
Lub you.

  2. la-la-loving this new part of your blog. Why is it so intriguing to get a sneak peek into the lives of others? Probably the same reason reality TV is popular.

Aus! (that's my new word I made up- it's short for awesome).
